Norwegian Travel

Norwegian Travel is a premium tour operator within adventure and experience-based tourism in Norway. The company has high growth ambitions and wants to become a one-stop-shop for active and adventurous tourists in selected destinations across the country – in an industry that is identified as one of Norway’s most important future industries.

Today, Norwegian Travel is best known for operating several of Norway´s most iconic and popular landmarks and attractions. The famous Snow Hotel in Kirkenes and the traditional Tromsø Cable Car are two examples. In 2021, the company built the country’s longest gondola lift, the Romsdalen gondola, well known from the popular Norwegian TV series “Kompani Lauritzen”.

Norwegian Travel has been in the forefront of sustainable tourism – a segment that is establishing as a mega trend. The company’s defined investment areas in Norway are Kirkenes, Tromsø, Lofoten and Romsdalen. The various local communities feel the positive ripple effects of the business. Hundreds of job opportunities have been created, and all operations are based on clean, locally produced hydro energy. Norwegian Travel’s overall goal is to be carbon neutral by 2025.

Since 2019, Longship has been the majority owner of the company and has promoted an assertive growth strategy. Since then, they have carried out 10 acquisitions and three new establishments within activity-based tourism.
